Origin

Zesui Coffee finds its roots in the high-altitude landscapes of Zesui hilltop, Bulago, Bukyabo, and Butandiga. Amidst these terrains, local farmers nurture our coffee beans, harvested and transported to the Kalaamugosi rural collection center in Kiboko – often with donkeys or on the backs of women and youth. The journey continues as beans move to the Busiita central processing unit via dedicated motorcycle transport. With meticulous care, we process the coffee to achieve optimal moisture content. Only then, meeting our quality standards, the coffee proceeds to its final destination in Mbale.

Process

Our dedicated agronomists guide farmers in adhering to stringent agricultural practices during cultivation, pre and post- harvesting, ensuring the creation of superior coffee beans. Each coffee-growing zone collects and prepares beans meticulously, guaranteeing separation and organization. At collection centers, our skilled team sorts cherries meticulously, addressing any ripeness issues. Beans then head to Busiita processing center for vital fermentation, imparting distinct flavors. Subsequently, they move to washing and grading channels, followed by cautious drying under shade-covered trey Achieving the required moisture content, beans proce cupping lab for unique profile assessment.

Nestled in Eastern Uganda’s Sironko, Bulambuli, and Kapchorwa regions, Our Farm epitomizes dedication, empowerment, and transformation. Enriching local farmers and communities, our sourcing model fosters empowerment. Over 2000 coffee households engage, ensuring industry benefits for all. Premium prices uplift livelihoods, satisfy consumers, and drive social transformation. Guided by 32 lead farmers, trained cultivators nurture cherries, abiding by comprehensive agricultural practices and quality production. Cherries, handpicked by experts, journey to collection centers and Busiita processing center, ensuring transformative excellence. The Zesui Coffee Farm is more than beans; it’s a symbol of positive change, dedication, and rural upliftment.
